As the Society of Professional Journalism- Detroit Chapter’s representative, I recently joined the board of The Michigan Coalition for Open Government. It is a tax exempt, nonprofit corporation founded to promote and protect transparency and accountability in the government at all levels of the state, and that includes Michigan’s schools.

This year’s honorees include the Hon.
